Yes you travel, but do you Bucket List Travel?

Many people have a Bucket-list of Travel Destinations they’d like to visit at least once in their life but very few of us get the opportunity to do so and are often left wondering what if or why didn’t I do it? Once a month we choose one Adventurous Traveler to answer a few Questions and give recommendations about Bucket-List Travel based on their personal Bucket-List Travel Experience.

Meet Bryanna Appleby

Meet Bryanna, she is a very adventurous beautiful female Bucket List Traveler who's ultimate goal was to visit all 7 continents. Yes you read it right, I said “was to” visit all 7 continents. That is because through years of amazing travel adventures Bryanna has had the honor to accomplish her travel goal of visiting all 7 continents and she will be sharing some of her Bucket List Travel wisdom with us today in this Travel Interview as she takes us on a Journey to Antarctica!!!!!!

The Interview

  • Who are you?

Bryanna Appleby. I am an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently living in Oahu, Hawaii and am an Air Force Officer. While I love traveling I also enjoy spending time at home with my husband and 2 dogs. I love traveling and am a proud member of the 7 Continent Club!

  • When you think of the word travel, where does your imagination take you?

It takes me to the temples of Angkor Wat, to the Corcovado in Brazil to hiking to Everest Base Camp and beyond.

  • What are your top Bucket List destinations?

Antarctica, Angkor Wat, Machu Picchu were my top bucket list destinations and I’ve made it to them all…I’m trying to make it to the Galapagos next!

  • How did you go about choosing these destinations and have you visited any of them?

Machu Picchu was my first solo trip.  I had always wanted to visit all of the world wonders and thought it would be a rewarding one to start with. Once, I had completed my 6th continent…I started to look at Antarctica. Antarctica is notoriously expensive as a bucket list destination but I scored a 50% opportunity. I have actually visited all of these destinations!!

  • Out of the Bucket List destinations that you have visited which one was your favorite?

Antarctica for outdoor destinations and Japan for the culture!

  • What made that destination your favorite?

The vastness of the glaciers and all of the untouched land.

  • What is one thing you’ll always remember about that vacation?

The wildlife (orcas, humpbacks, penguins) and the beauty and vastness of the glaciers.

  • If you could go back to that destination would you? If so Why or why not?

Of course!  Antarctica is absolutely incredible, expensive but absolutely incredible.

  • What is your most favorite part about Bucket List traveling?

Experiencing new cultures, eating amazing food, and taking in all of a destination’s beauty.

  • Do you prefer to travel as a couple, with friends or Solo and why?

I prefer to do all three!  My favorite trip with my husband was a romantic getaway to Bora Bora. I have done a ton of backpacking with my friend Vanessa and Girls Trips are always so much fun. We have gone to Oktoberfest, Morocco, and Russia.  Solo traveling is rewarding for the soul and it just does something to your confidence. As we get older, my friends and husband aren’t able to escape from work as much but I don’t let that stop my traveling.  If I didn’t do solo traveling I would have never made it to Antarctica, China, Japan, South Africa, Myanmar, the list goes on.

  • How do you plan your Bucket List Travel vacations?

I jump right in!  The first step is always to buy the plane ticket and then I work out all of the details from there.

  • What would you recommend to other people who are interested in Bucket List traveling?

Don’t wait!  I guarantee once you start traveling and meet other wanderlusters your bucket list will continue to grow.

  • Is there anything else you would like to add about Bucket List traveling?

There’s a famous quote out there… “Traveling is the only thing you buy that makes your richer!”
